Comprehensive care for the pregnant mare including regular ultrasounds to monitor fetal development, gestational and pre-foaling vaccines, and ration assessment.
12x12’ stall with gated front, and monitored daily turnout - either solo in a small paddock or with a small group of comparable pregnant mares.
Individualized feeding plan to support proper nutrition and condition, including grain meals up to 3 times per day, with free-choice hay and water.
Regular udder and perineal checks to track gestational changes (1-4 times daily as needed).
Quantitative milk-calcium testing to best pinpoint the time of foaling.
Constant overnight monitoring: remotely via foaling cameras and on-site via late night barn checks.
Attended delivery, including positional adjustments and foaling assistance as necessary, and support through the immediate post-partum and neonatal bonding period.
Post-partum exams within 24 hours of foaling to ensure the health and safety of both mare and foal, featuring a 50+ point neonatal checklist, quantitative IgG and optional bloodwork.
Medical support for unthrifty foals, including plasma, probiotics, antibiotics and fluid therapy.
Group turnout with foals of similar age and/or size to encourage social development and play!
Hands-on management of suckling foals to optimize immune health, promote proper hoof and leg angles, and ensure adequate nutrition and growth.
